What Really Happened to Takesis
This is a history, first of my Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Character, then of the adventures and misadventures of her adventuring group, the Heroes of Happenstance, as seen through her eyes. Glad to have you visiting.

Nyda entered Takesis's blue mouth at a time when it was recharging, and couldn't breathe lightning at her. She was well prepared--under a lot of protection spells and carrying some interesting stuff. Once inside, she took a scarf off her hair, which she'd cast continual light on, so she could see. After all, inside a living creature, infravision's pretty useless. She was wearing a ring of free movement that Raistlin had lent her, so she could do whatever she pleased without worrying about being digested. She was under a flight spell, so she wouldn't fall down Takesis's throat.
The first things she did were to dump a bag of holding full of base down Takesis's throat. Very strong base. If you don't know, when base hits acid--stomach acid, for instance--there's a very large explosion. Our DM rolled a saving throw versus poison for Takesis. She failed it. Talk about a tummy-ache.
Nyda's protection against lightning had been a little different than most of her protection spells. It wasn't a spell. When she asked Chantelle for ideas about protection from fire and lightning, Chantelle remembered (with Li's ghost whispering in her ear) Li's Harper pin, that he'd left behind with almost everything else. Of course, Nyda was lawful evil, and so couldn't touch it without it burning her. Chantelle and Nyda went to Cadderly to see if anything could be done so that Nyda could safely wear it for this purpose. Cadderly said he couldn't do anything, but a few words to the right person might make things work out right. As he said it, he touched Li's symbol of Mielikki, which Nyda was wearing, to the pin. Nyda prayed to Mielikki and was able to wear the pin without it hurting her. After she was inside Takesis she didn't need it anymore. So she unpinned it and dropped it down Takesis's throat. Even a dragon's stomach acid isn't strong enough to destroy Everbright any too quickly, so the pin remains there forever, until Takesis thinks about it and eats for several days to get rid of it by natural channels, or until she dies. And what are the odds of Takesis dying? Well, if someone can distract her for two hours, pretty damn good. The pin still causes ten points of damage every minute. That's six hundred in an hour.
Once Nyda was done with her little nasties in Takesis's throat, she cut her way out of the esophagus and plowed through until she found a blood vessel big enough to hold her. Then she cut into that and climbed in, casting spells as Takesis's own blood carried her directly into the dragon-goddess's heart. Takesis might have a negative fifteen armor class on the outside, but on the inside she has a normal ten just like anybody else. And inside the heart, there wasn't much way to miss. Nyda stuck the dragonlance into her heart. Takesis stopped fighting and started falling. Nyda used a scroll with dimension door on it, courtesy of WindSong, to exit Takesis, stage up. It only took a few seconds, so she didn't hit the ground with Takesis, and her fly spell was still active, so getting down in one piece was no problem. When Takesis was on the ground, she had no choice but to go back to the Abyss, or Paladine wouldn't let the dragonlance out of her heart.
Yes, Nyda really did beat Kitiara in legitimate single combat. Nyda was still under a bunch of spells to make the gods like her and a couple of protection spells. Kit kept missing. And for all Nyda's weapons only do one three-sided die worth of damage, they were enchanted to an extra two or three each, and Nyda has an eighteen eighty-something strength, which is an extra three to hit and four to damage. I don't think Nyda took a single scratch.
