Lacuna
What Happened Between Talian's Death and Dooley's Arrival
Not long after Li died, Ariakan and the invasionary force of the Knights of Takesis, who had seen exactly what Takesis did to Li, decided they could not give their allegiance to someone so dishonorable. Ariakan and a fairly large group of former Knights of Takesis appeared in the common room of the floating citadel. Everyone was quite surprised. Ariakan told Chantelle that he'd brought the Heroes of Happenstance an army. Enter a considerable number more former Knights of Takesis. Then one of the Knights put what remained of Li's clothes, weapons, and armor on the ground next to her and Ariakan handed her a small sack. She opened it, and didn't have to think very hard to put together the weapons and the ashes inside the sack. She part-screamed part-cursed part-cried a futile protest. She was not in good shape for the rest of the evening, to put it mildly.
Chantelle had to tell Bolten, who just got very quiet and asked to be alone. While she was there, Chantelle found the letter Li had left addressed to her. She took it back to the common room and read most of it aloud, omitting, mostly, the parts about Li being in love with Nyda. Mostly. Nyda got enough, from the bits Chantelle didn't get and from the rest of the letter, that she wasn't doing well either. She wandered out to the balcony and glared at the night.
The blue dragons could not help in the fight against Takesis, so the former Knights of Takesis went about organizing themselves. Meanwhile, in Waterdeep, arrangements were being made for aerial defense of the city with the aid of bronze and silver dragons.
PoisonedBlade appeared, on a platinum dragon. She walked in, her dragonlance shortening from a cavalry lance to a footman's lance, and handed the thing Nyda. She said that Nyda had to fix things.
